Le Albare

I n the early years of last century, great-grandfather Adamo founded Le Albare, followed by his son Umberto and after him, by his grandson Giovanni. Nowadays, it is the fourth generation, with Stefano, who continues the job, with enthusiasm and care, to produce wines that are the outcome of love for the land and of such long tradition.

The company is located in Montecchia di Crosara, Verona. The region presents the ideal soil for great white wines, being derived from the volcanic action that mutated the sea into hills, giving a basaltic soil, dark, and rich of minerals.

Le Albare employs a particular technique to give character to their wines, the double reasoned ripening, which consists in cutting a part of the shoots of the vines in early September, leaving them on the vineyard for approximately a month, stopping the ripening but safeguarding its acidity. For the rest, ripening continues, reaching the perfect sugar content for a correct alcohol content. After a month the grapes are harvested by hand and then vinified.

The enthusiasm and care of the Family results in great wines, mainly Soave and Valpolicella

A crucial topic for the family is balance, in every aspect of sustainability, not only because all the energy used on the estate is produced thanks to solar panels and the excess is stored to be used later on, but also because nature is respected in every way.
